The Cleaning Crew

Part of our work at Tennyson Lodge is to help people to develop their skills and to support them to become more independent.  One of the ways we do this is to employ a team of people to keep the building clean.


We do not have any contract cleaners.  Our team carry out all the cleaning duties within the centre themselves.
They are paid for one hour of work each session and also take part in training for which they will receive a certificate to help them when they apply for other jobs.


We have been doing this now for over fives years and it has been an extremely successful project.  Not only is the centre kept in a very clean and safe condition, but the Cleaning Crew have also saved the centre a lot of money.  All those who have taken part have completed the training and have gained their certificates too.


Here are some pictures to show how hard the team works to look after their centre.

All those who have worked on this project have chosen to take part themselves and have done a superb job of looking after the centre.  We congratulate everyone on their hard work and also for completing all the training successfully.

The Welcome Project

Welcome to the Welcome Project.

Two of our people have started to run the reception desk at Hereward Hall on a Tuesday.  They are both volunteers and are taking part in the project to develop their work skills.

At the moment this is a pilot for the project.  We are hoping that we can run the reception on other days which will give other people the chance to get involved.  

We would like to wish both volunteers good luck with the project.

We are going to be posting lots of information about what happens here at Tennyson Lodge.


We will let you know about what we are doing, things we have made, places we have been, and things that are coming up.


There will also be times when you can get involved and help us to raise money for the centre.  Things like the Cassano's disco that happens on the first Monday of each month.
